Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an ode to the traditional sextet style, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the growth of the band. Bobby Kimball's growing virtuosity was reflected by the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were as well more refined, more precise, and less derivative on previous recordings.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live concert that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between.
